This is a beauty! Made of the finest liquid silk this is a gown to be treasured. This would have been meant for the boudoir but it could easily be worn as an actual gown in our modern world. It is cut on the bias and literally slips on and settles down the body perfectly into place, caressing every curve. The screened floral pattern runs in angled bands giving the wearer length and leanness. I can't help but think of the later Ossie Clark spiral dress when I look at this and think it was gowns like this that perhaps gave him inspiration. The front is gently gathered along the sides and the back has an open slit that runs down the spine. It is just incredible and very well made with hand finishes. Excellent condition.
Unlined and slips on. Cut on the bias so the length will come up slightly when on.
